Abstract

The College of Education is one of the colleges of the Al-Ayen Iraqi University (AUIQ). It was established in 2023 to share the rest of the colleges in fulfilling the educational mission of university, to contribute in confrontation of the increasing demand of Iraqi youth for higher education, and to fill the significant shortage in secondary educational staff in the governorate and throughout Iraq, and with the aim of preparing male and female teachers for secondary and high schools. This preparation lasts for four years, using the integrated semester system. The student receives his specialized lessons in one of the college’s departments (chemistry and English language) and, at the same time, receives educational and psychological lessons and practical training in teaching. Then, after completing their specialized and educational studies, they're awarded a certificate that qualifies them to teach in secondary education. The college was allocated in a distinguished location in the city center - Imam Ali Street (peace be upon him). Its building consists of four floors to accommodate students within spacious study halls and scientific laboratories equipped with the latest technical specifications that enable the student to acquire the required skills.

College vision

There is a college to provide a stimulating educational and pedagogical environment to form an elite of professors in various scientific fields. The curricula are already based on the natural experience and other supportive aspects to facilitate the end, where students learn their experimental abilities and become active elements in serving the nation and its advancement.

The College of Education aims to be a leader in teacher preparation by utilizing the latest educational studies and equipping students with the necessary scientific knowledge and skills to contribute to societal development, keep pace with rapid changes, and enhance the concepts of education, learning, scientific research, and community service.

The college also strives to build conscious generations capable of assuming responsibility and participating in achieving comprehensive development by cultivating well-rounded personalities, instilling positive values and inclinations, developing creative abilities, and adopting scientific thinking in addressing and solving problems.

Furthermore, the college works to prepare students for active participation in scientific research and to contribute to scientific advancement in the fields of science and humanities, enabling them to become successful professionals and responsible members of society. This includes developing academic programs and strengthening communication with the community and various institutions to disseminate cultural, social, educational, and scientific awareness.

In addition, the college seeks to graduate qualified personnel who will contribute to the development process in Iraq and are capable of filling specialized positions in the public and private sectors.

Mission of the College

Preparing students who possess scientific and professional competence, continuous development skills, and community service skills in line with scientific and technological progress, and who qualify to work in secondary and higher education.
